When a Malibu-community resident found a chocolate Lab roaming loose, the person went straight to a mobile app — Nextoor — saved the day (and the dog!) — which turned out to belong to Julia Roberts!

Major, no surprise for a Labrador, was found at Little Dume Beach near Point Dume. Using the app, the neighbor posted a “Found Chocolate Lab” message — with a cute, cut-off pic — alerting the community that he’d picked up someone’s pooch.

Roberts’ husband, Danny Moder, responded and collected the good Samaritan’s contact information. Another Malibu resident told TMZ the dog was safely returned.

A nice, happy ending for Major and his family. BARK!
