Margaux, a nine-year-old Poodle, had a severe infection on her paw, her owners couldn’t tell what had caused it. At first, they thought it was a snake bite. After seeing a specialist in Boise, Idaho, the cause of the infection was found. Margaux has a disease called diffuse pyogranulomatous inflammation which was affecting her immune system.

Her paw healed, but the disease continued to spread to other body parts. Margaux went through times where she was completely healthy, and other times her disease affected her quite badly.

When her illness spread to her eyes, they both had to be removed. To make matters worse, Margaux had also become deaf.

So, Margaux, the once healthy and happy Poodle was now deaf and blind. But, she had an amazing support system in her humans and canine siblings (Susie, Rhonda, and Chloe).

They have helped Margaux through it all. With the help of her furry siblings, Margaux gets to go for walks – they each take turns walking Margaux by holding the leash in their mouths.

They act as her seeing eye dogs and guide her down the road.

Even though Margaux can’t see or hear, she can feel the love.

Margaux acts just like any other dog and is enjoying her life.

Her humans think that she is using a kind of echolocation (like bats) to help her navigate.

Margaux has a lot to smile about and can be seen here smiling from ear to ear.
