Jamie, a four-year-old Pit bull mix, is looking for her forever home. She is a very social pup who loves meeting new people. She loves being lazy and cuddling on the couch, but she also loves a good adventure!
She was recently rescued by police officers from filthy conditions in a New York City basement. She was severely malnourished, and covered in urine and feces. Her nails were so long, they were beginning to curl around her feet.
After she was rescued, she got to spend time with the cops who saved her life, and enjoy a day “on patrol.” During her day of fun, she got to go to a dog park, ride in a police van, got lots of belly rubs, and was treated to yummy pup-cakes! For the past six months, she has been recovering with the ASPCA. Now she’s ready to be adopted!
She is looking for an experienced adopter and a home with kids 10-and-up. She gets distracted by other dogs while she’s outside for a walk, and tends to pull on her leash, but is practicing loose leash walking. For now, it’d be best if she was the only dog in her home, but in the future she may have a few dog friends. She’s a great dog and will quickly acclimate to her new home.
