Dog Evaded Capture For 2 Years But What He Did After Caught Brought Tears To His Rescuer’s Eyes

This little escape artist, appropriately named Houdini, was first noticed at the Port of San Pedro in Los Angeles two years ago. Teams upon teams of rescuers have made attempts to capture the little doggy to no avail. Not even animal control could get him to safety. That did not dissuade Hope For Paws, who was determined to catch the clever, evasive dog.

The Hope For Paws team came for two consecutive days to the shipyard, trying to catch the slippery pooch. The first day they tried the nice way, laying out a trap for him with some treats. Houdini was clever though; he ate the food that was way laid out but didn’t even go near the cage. The second day the team came with the idea to chase him down and close off some of the exits of the port with netting, but the weather was against their efforts and it chased the scared puppy away.

Hope For Paws knew that they have to make the third attempt count, so they rallied the troops from Rescue From The Hart. They sealed off the entire port and decided they wouldn’t let tiny Houdini run away again.

When they were finally able to catch him, the pup was so terrified, he wanted to bite. So they brought Mike, the security guard that was feeding Houdini for two years without being able to touch or pet the scared rascal. When the organization was finally able to work their magic, they revealed that the terrified escape artist was hiding a beautiful little pet inside!
