Dog Picks Out Her Very Own Shelter Kitty to Be Her Best Friend

A very special thanks to Christian Cotroneo of The Dodo for finding this terrific story!

Christina always knew she wanted to have a dog and cat grow up together, so when she got her Tamaskan husky, Raven, she brought her with her to a shelter so she could pick out the kitten she wanted to bring home. A year later, their friendship is still going strong.

1

“I wanted them to be able to get along well,” she told The Dodo. “So I wanted her to actually meet the cat and have the cat get along with the dog as well.”

When Christina and Raven went to the Lubbock, Texas shelter, kitten after kitten was brought before them. But none of them was interested in Raven’s cuddles. Until Woodhouse. This little guy took and instant liking to Raven, and she felt the same.

3

“They are perfect with each other. They don’t cuddle as much as they used to when they were a puppy and kitten. But they’re still always together, always playing together.”

4

“Woodhouse actually chases the dog around the house. And they like to play tag.”

5

They love to do everything together, it seems. Like give snarky faces…

6

They celebrated Woodhouse’s first birthday together. He doesn’t look too happy about the hat.

7

The pair go on car rides together. (I know – a cat who enjoys car rides? Crazy!)

8

Even though Raven hates baths, she and Woodhouse were recently caught playing in the tub together.

9

They even chill outside in the sun together.

10

And at night, they can still be found canoodling, just like they did when they were babies.
