Once A Dog Is Surrendered, This Is What He Feels – Depression And Lonliness

Dogs have feelings too. Most people don’t stop to think about the emotional cost of surrendering a dog to the shelter. On September 14th Tammy Graves from the Haley Graves Foundation Inc. took a picture of a recently surrendered dog. The poor dog was clearly terrified and overwhelmed.

She posted the picture and wrote that this is what happens to dogs who get surrendered. They don’t know what is going on and are devastated. The change of life and living circumstances is too sudden to comprehend. Graves said that the problem is irresponsible owners and not a shelter or system issue. The dog, known as June has been rescued – so, her story has a happy ending.

June is not available for adoption at this time however because she is heartworm positive and needs help overcoming her social anxiety. Follow Haley Graves Rescue on Facebook to keep up with June’s progress. Share away, people.
