How to Teach your Puppy to have Fun



If your puppy has been looking a bit glum lately it could be your fault. Do you ever wonder what your puppy is thinking? Yes, thinking. Dogs do think and dogs and people have a lot in common. Dogs must be kept physically and mentally active to be healthy, just like us. And dogs want to have fun, just like us.

Did you know that dogs don’t just love having fun, they also have a sense of humor?

So if your puppy is looking rather sourly at you it’s probably because you don’t take time to have fun together. Maybe you don’t know how puppies want to have fun. If you believe that keeping your puppy active is only essential for its physical health, scrap that! Your puppy wants to have fun, and its best ever would be to have fun with you.

There are many ways that you and your puppy can have fun together apart from the usual puppy activities. Puppies are game for almost anything! From the traditional fave’s like tug-o-war and fetch to soccer, table tennis and hiking; your puppy will be game. Time to get your trainers on, pack you and your puppy’s kit and get active.

Why is it important to teach your puppy to have fun?

You take your puppy for regular walks right, so why is that not enough?

Exercise is very important if your puppy is going to stay fit and healthy but it’s not enough. Puppies must have fun to stay mentally healthy. Dogs are smart! All smart creatures want to have fun. Laughter is the best medicine for dogs as well.

The more you interact with your puppy, the more you stretch it’s mental and physical abilities. The more you stretch your puppy’s abilities the more it will learn. Everyone learns more when learning is made fun, and that applies to dogs too.

You really don’t have to go to great lengths to find ways to make your puppy’s life fun. All you have to do is include your puppy in your activities and see what it enjoys. Once your puppy finds something it enjoys you’ll see the tail wag and broad smile. Don’t be surprised if your puppy’s sense of humor suddenly appears as well.

What if your puppy doesn’t know how to have fun?

Maybe you have overlooked the fact that your puppy wants to have fun. Not everyone knows that dogs want to enjoy life just as much as we do.

Senior puppies love having fun too!

What happens when you puppy gets older? Never think that your puppy is too old to have fun. Just like people, dogs want to enjoy life for as long as they can. Having fun doesn’t end when your puppy get older.

Dogs of all ages love human attention and play. Your senior will still enjoy playing like it did when it was a puppy. Just slow down the pace and be gentle.
