Those of you who don’t listen to country music may not be familiar with Kenny Chesney. Fans of his, though, are familiar with his passion for islands in general and the Virgin Islands in particular.
You probably know that this area was devastated by Hurricane Irma, a category 5 storm that ravaged much of the Caribbean, including St. Johns and St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. That’s why, in the wake of the hurricane, he and his No Shoes Nation helped create Love For Love City, a nonprofit dedicated to helping the animals and people affected by Hurricane Irma.
In conjunction with several other rescues, including Big Dog Ranch Rescue from Loxahatchee, Florida, Love For Love City, Chesney, and his tour manager, Jill Trunnell, have helped rescue more than 800 animals from the affected islands.
The day began early yesterday loading dogs and cats onto boats from St Johns and heading to St Thomas to get another 90+…
As the cats and dogs are rescued and transported to the United States, they are receiving medical care and being sent to various shelters and rescues throughout the country to find amazing new homes.
