Lick It Up! Meet Mochi, The Guinness Record-Holder For Longest Dog Tongue

Move over Gene Simmons, there’s a bigger tongue in town.

A new face has entered the Guinness World Record Book, and it’s probably a little slobbery.

Mochi, 8, a rescue St. Bernard from Sioux Falls, SD, is the new record-holder for longest dog tongue.

Mochi’s tongue measures a whopping 7.31 inches, and owner Carla Rickert says that they’re often stopped by passersby who want to get a pic with Mochi.

“It feels truly amazing to be a part of the Guinness World Records: Amazing Animals book! We are so grateful for the opportunity to make others smile.”

She adopted Mochi, who she describes as “a resilient, happy-go-lucky dog, with a big personality” from the Colorado-based Big Dogs, Huge Paws rescue six years ago. The nonprofit rescues dogs weighing 100 pounds or more.

Mochi, whom the family often calls “Mo” for short, enjoys dressing up in costumes, having her picture taken, spending time with her family and snacking on sweet potatoes, she added.

Congratulations to this lovely gentle giant!
