Severely abused puppy found locked in closet – man arrested

A severely abused puppy, with a slashed neck, broken jaw and chipped teeth, was rescued from a closet after someone reported a case of possible animal cruelty to the authorities. According to WPXI News, his owner, identified as Lagentrious Watson, was arrested and he is facing a felony charge for the crime.

The puppy, an eight-month-old pit bull who has been dubbed “Wags,” is recuperating at the Humane Society of Lawrence County in Pennsylvania. Wags is appreciative of the kindness that he is finally being shown. Lois Winter with the shelter said, “For all he went through, he’s so happy to get love.”

On September 2, the shelter introduced Wags to its Facebook followers:

We would like to formally introduce Wags to our community!

This sweet boy is doing extremely well despite all that he has endured. We had Wags treated immediately by the amazing staff at North Memorial Animal Hospital and his future is very bright!
