After an entire life with family, 13-year-old Soloman surrendered to shelter

After spending a lifetime with his family, 13-year-old Soloman finds himself alone at a shelter in Virginia Beach. The senior Labrador retriever is justifiably confused – how could he possibly understand what went wrong?

On Wednesday, the Facebook page, Dogs of Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center, created a Facebook post in an effort to find this senior boy a new home:

Soloman is 13 year old neutered male Labrador who was surrendered to our shelter after living with his family his entire life. I can’t imagine how confused this sweet old man must be, wondering when his people are coming back for him. We would really like to get him adopted as soon as possible, as shelters are tough on old dogs.

Soloman is house trained, good with dogs, and good with kids. He has arthritis, which is to be expected at his age, but seems healthy otherwise. His family says he loves to give kisses, he’s quiet, and leash trained. Please help us find Soloman his new retirement home.

Will you please help this senior boy find a new place to rest his paws?
