Betrayed German shepherd by owner ‘who didn’t have time for her’

Nearly one week ago, a one-year-five-months-old beautiful German shepherd was placed on the euthanasia list at the San Bernardino County – Devore Shelter. The female black and tan dog had been surrendered by her owner on September 23 “who didn’t have time for her.”

According to volunteers and staff, the dog named Dixie, is afraid therefore has been categorized as “rescue only.” Pledges have been made to be paid to the approved rescue once this dog is safely out of the shelter.

She’s afraid. I can’t say I blame her….her worlds been turned upside down and she can’t even ask why…she needs help…,” a volunteer posted on social media.
