Betrayed! His family didn’t come to get him, now fearful dog is in isolation

Update: After the publication of this article, the shelter link for this dog reveals that he has been adopted!

A middle-aged dog at a busy California animal control has been terribly betrayed. Back in September, the seven-year-old dog was picked up as a stray, and though his family was contacted, nobody came to get him.

Now the frightened dog has been labeled “fearful” and he is stuck in isolation, waiting to be rescued. Two weeks ago, an advocate writes:

ISOLATION/HIDDEN KENNEL
#A527659 Available 9/23 (RESCUE ONLY-FEARFUL)
7 year old male lab mix. Came in as stray on 9/13/19. Owner contacted. Never came to reclaim.

Fearful dogs show poorly in kennel situations – they do not rush to greet visitors, or express joy when someone talks to them. Instead, they cower and hide – waiting for an awful fate to take place.

Will you please consider sharing this article to help this scared boy find a reputable rescue group? He needs to be removed from this situation and shown that he is safe and loved.
