Desperately sad senior shepherd at risk at busy animal control

German shepherds are known for their deep loyalty and devotion to their families – imagine the heartache of a senior dog who finds herself away from everyone and everything she has ever known. A senior German shepherd named Katya is terribly sad in her lonely kennel run at the San Antonio Animal Services facility in Texas.

Katya needs to have an adoption or rescue hold by today…or she may be put down. An unfair and horrible end for a beautiful dog who did nothing to deserve her fate.

On Monday, the SAPA Urgents & Adoptables Facebook page wrote:

Katya is a pretty girl who is sad in the kennels. With time and love, she will make an awesome companion. Will you help turn her sad eyes into happy tail wags? Katya is around 8 years old and weighs about 60 lbs.
