A dog being held at a California animal control agency has been put on “red alert,” meaning that he can be euthanized at any time. The four-year-old dog, named Cameron, is anxious in the kennel run at the West Los Angeles Shelter (can you blame him after nearly 2 years?!) and he must be pulled by a rescue agency as soon as possible.
This week, Cameron’s advocate writes of the danger this dog is in:
Cameron has ben RED ALERTED since 2/24 and is now way past his 48 hour hold. This means the shelter may be euthanized without further notice (ex. if he becomes unmanageable). We need to get him out. He is anxious at the shelter’s kennel.

Background and personality
Additional information has been provided on this death row dog:
Cameron has had a tough life so far. There’s just no way around it. This adorable chocolate and vanilla guy has the sweetest smile, and we very much want to find a Rescuer who can give this unique boy the tools he needs for a happy, safe, and free life!
Cameron is anxious in the shelter kennel, but when it’s time for a walk he is “easy to leash and handle and takes correction well.”
He will also ‘sit’ and ‘shake’ for treats, which he takes gently, and he loves being pet! He’s just 4 years old, but already Cameron has spent quite a bit of time in the shelter system, including his recent stint, which has lasted 16 MONTHS.
You can lend this dog a life-saving hand by sharing his adoption information.
