Dog skirts euthanasia after death of owner – now he needs a home

A 10-year-old dog has been given a life-saving reprieve following the death of his owner. According to WSBT News, the surviving family members of Milo’s former owner intended to have him euthanized after his person died, but he was saved before that dismal fate became a reality.

Today Milo is at the Michiana Humane Society in Michigan City, Indiana, and staff is working to find him a new home. On Wednesday, the shelter described the homeless pup in a Facebook post:

Oh, Milo…he loves to go outside for walks but once he is back inside, he finds his bed and lives the good life of relaxing! The only better thing would be if he was adopted!

Milo is about 10 years old, is neutered, and only has 3 legs! He arrived at Michiana Humane Society when his owner passed away and he had nowhere else to go. He would most likely do best as the only furbaby in his new home. Milo is loyal, interactive, and always is so over-the-moon when you walk in the room.

Staff describes him as a “joy” to be around, and they are hopeful that someone will be moved to take him home. Get more information from the Michiana Humane Society at (219) 872-4499
