A dog suffered severe injuries and died after allegedly being thrown from the window of a moving car in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday evening. As reported by KIITV News, the dog was struck by another car, and that driver immediately stopped to try and help.
The grievously injured dog was in too much pain to let the individual approach. Another woman, identified as Amberley Freitas, also stopped and was able to secure the dog and get her to an emergency veterinarian for help. Freitas tells the news agency, “Finally I got her comfortable enough to settle down more. Prior to that, she had been at biting her tail, she was trying to break it more. I think in her mind, to stop the pain.”
Tragically, the dog’s spinal injuries were too severe and she did not make it.
