Good Samaritan finds neglected dog ‘near death’

An Ohio animal control facility is looking for answers after taking in a badly neglected dog who was found by a good Samaritan. The Columbiana County Dog Pound took in the malnourished Chihuahua mix, dubbed Mocha, on Thursday, and they note that she was near death.

In a Facebook post, asking for information, the facility describes Mocha’s precarious health:

She was very close to death when brought in and would have been lucky if she could have made it one more day without vet care. Mocha’s only medical issue is starvation.

Mocha was found on E. 5th St in East Liverpool, Ohio, and she is currently recuperating in a foster home.

Information needed

The animal shelter hopes to find Mocha’s prior owner, writing:

If anyone knows who the previous owner was, please call our office. If nobody is available, please leave a message with your name and phone number and someone will call you back. You can remain anonymous on the complaint if you choose. The phone number is (330)424-6663.
