Octavia has been at the Fairfield County SC Animal Shelter for 257 days. This is how she spends a typical day although staff do try their best to help. More than eight-months ago, Octavia and her sibling were surrendered; sadly she still waits for a miracle.
During a routine spay procedure, a lump was discovered which needed to be addressed. A biopsy was taken and sent for analysis. Octavia was diagnosed with a rare skin lesion in dogs reflective of a congenital anomaly associated with lymphatic development. While it does not exhibit malignant features, it does show an infiltrative growth pattern and is often recurrent and progressive. An oncologist examination is recommended.
Meanwhile, Octavia remains at the shelter, and she needs to get out sooner than later. Her sibling left months ago- Octavia lies in the middle of her shelter cage alone and downtrodden. Surely she deserves better.
Share her plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
“Jan Craig-Olinger Samira Yaghi, I have been raising funds for Octavia. She now has about $760 in pledges; my goal is $1000. Please share this info with any Rescue who might help her. She may be a hospice dog, but at least she could get out of the shelter and see a specialist. Please let me know if there’s any other way I can help.”
