Earlier this week, a man in Las Vegas, Nevada, repeatedly stabbed a police K9. The incident happened on the night of April 13 at an apartment complex near Twain Avenue. K9 Kimura, with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, sustained serious injuries while attempting to apprehend 57-year-old Jeffrey Holland.
Holland was being arrested on a traffic bench warrant when things spiraled into violence. The man is now facing additional charges of resisting an officer with a deadly weapon and attempting to kill a police animal.
Though the three-year-old Dutch shepherd sustained serious injuries to the neck, he is now home with his handler. On April 15, the department alerted Facebook followers writing:
Monday night, LVMPD K9 Kimura was stabbed multiple times by a dangerous suspect armed with a huge knife. Today he went home with his handler, Officer Bachman.
On Saturday, the K9s of Valor Facebook page announced that the man who stabbed Kimura 13 times has already been released from jail.
