No time to mourn: Dog’s owner died and pup surrendered to Texas shelter

When Hank’s owner died, it seems as if the man’s family didn’t waste anytime surrendering the dog to Harris County Pets. And although we often don’t know what our dogs are thinking and how much they really mourn when they lose their best friends, it isn’t hard to see the heartbreak in this dog’s eyes and his demeanor.

An advocate posted:

“There is no rescue tag on him. Adoption interest went away. He’s sitting in a kennel has not been walked. He had his vaccinations but they say he is heart worm positive they said no body is interested in him he has a hold for 3 more days can leave Thuy or Friday ! I don’t understand !”

PetHarbor adoption listing: ID:A568169

“I am male. I look like a red and black Bloodhound mix. My age is unknown.”

His plight can be followed on Facebook. Advocates have been sharing with friends, family and social media contacts as well as pledging funds to be paid to an approved rescue when this dog is rescued and safely out of the shelter.
