In Jurupa Valley, California, a one-pound puppy was found in a trash bag left in a dumpster on Monday. The five-week-old puppy was so small, at first rescuers thought she was a kitten.
According to the FurEver Pawz Rescue, who will be caring for the puppy until she is old enough to be adopted, the little one was found in a dumpster located at Mission Boulevard. It is not known who abandoned the defenseless puppy.
“Just when we think we have experienced the worst humans can do we get that call. A 5 week old puppy found by a good human trapped in a trash bag… alive. A TRASH BAG. Just thrown away. I can’t even find the words on what I think of this person who did this.
Meet Marie. so cute, about 1 pound of pure sweetness. Seems to have no long term effects from her ordeal, some minor skin issues we are treating. So very young to be taken from mom by a monster. She is safe and warm with a foster and we will take extra special care of this sweet pup. Please send her your good thoughts and prayers,” the organization posted on their Facebook page.
Marie will be available for adoption when she is four-months-old. Once she is available she will go on the rescue’s website at www.fureverpawzrescue.org. No applications will be taken before she becomes available. Watch her progress on Facebook and Instagram.
