Puppy returned after ‘Empty the Shelter Day’ with broken legs and fractured hip

In San Antonio, Texas, an eight-month-old puppy was returned to San Antonio Animal Care Services on Sunday not long after the shelter held an “Empty the Shelter Day” event. Sadly, the adopters were not aware of the puppy’s injuries and were not able to afford the anticipated veterinary bills associated with the needed care.

Honey will need an approved rescue organization to help. Please share her plight with friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. The puppy’s plight is being shared on social media here.

“‘Adopter did not know of his injuries because she was not allowed to walk him or put him on the ground at ACS due to his age;’”

“it wasn’t until they got him home did they figure out something was wrong and did take to the vet.. that’s how they learned about the medical issues…”
