Scared 12-year-old beagle deserves better than dying alone at a shelter

This is Anthony; he is a 12-year-old beagle mix at the Downey Animal Care Center who needs a rescue or a committed adopter to care for him. His status is urgent, and although he is very scared, volunteers state he is easy to pet and handle.

Since November 12, Anthony has waited for his family to return, and sadly, no one has shown up to take him home. His medical condition will require follow-up care; he presents with panting, bad teeth, OU opacity, heart abnormality and long nails. Grade 3/6 left apical holosystolic heart murmur. At a time when he needs loving care and warm caresses, he waits alone in his kennel cage. Many thanks to the volunteers who visit and reassure him someone will come soon.

Please share Anthony’s plight with approved rescues, family, friends and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. This senior’s story is indeed tragic, but surely he deserves better.
