Senior dog and her closely bonded tripod have lost their home

For the last three years, Leah and Oso have lived together; their bond so tightly woven together if one dog doesn’t eat neither will the other one. Sadly, the pair have lost their home, and here they wait at the Ramona Humane Society in San Jacinto, California. All they have left are each other.

Leah, #183462 is an eight-year-old pit bull mix and Oso, the tripod Chihuahua, #183461 is 11-years-old.

A shelter volunteer tells their heartbreaking story:

“I had a correction from the shelter, the chi’s owner passed away 3 years ago…he was given to a family member, there the chi and pit bonded during the 3 years ….their owner surrendered them saying she wanted them euthanized…she could not care for them …. regardless of their story these dogs only have one another, please share so they may stay together…”

The dogs reportedly have been kenneled together and are both sweet. They have, however been listed as “rescue only” and should not be separated. Please share their plights with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
