Sometimes it seems neither the wisdom or loyalty of a dog matters much anymore. Mack was surrendered to Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEACCA) in Downey, California on June 24 – and for almost two weeks, with no rescue possibilities in the works, Mack has been listed as “CODE RED.”
“It’s harder for old Mack to walk now. Did he struggle to get out of the car when he was dropped off at the shelter to die,” the dog’s advocate asked on social media hoping to bring attention to the senior dog’s plight. “Did he have to be helped out of the car?”
Mack is a senior, and no one seems to care much about him. When he came into the shelter, he had a mass on his chest. His teeth are worn down, he has a flea allergy; it’s just so evident no one has taken care of him since his age began to show.
And if that isn’t all – now Mack is suffering from kennel cough and therefore skips to the front of the line for that lonely walk to the back room where dreams no longer matter as darkness sets in when he takes his last breath.
