A shelter dog in Fairfield County, South Carolina, literally begs for his chance to be loved. Peter was surrendered to the county animal shelter after his owner moved away, and months later, he remains homeless.
The young dog wants nothing more than to give and receive affection. In October, his advocate writes:
If this didn’t just kick me in the gut yesterday when I was at the shelter 💔
I was walking back and forth past Peter’s kennel on the intake side getting dogs tested. I crouched down next to his kennel to remove the leash off of a dog when I felt something pawing at my leg. It was Peter. Looking for attention. Wanting his turn. Wanting some love. How sad is that?
Imagine longing for affection, but receiving little to nothing. His advocate said:
How lonely are these kids? I just couldn’t bare walking away and leaving him without a few mins of Interaction. So we did, me and Leah took him out and loved on him❤️played with him❤️gave what little time we had just so he too, can feel like someone cares. He’s not forgotten.
He’s a hugger, and any chance he gets, wraps both legs around you and pauses so to enjoy the moment…because that moment is not always available daily 😢
Peter has been overlooked for too long. Please share his adoption information and help him find a family who will love him for the rest of his days.
