Skeletal dog likely abandoned – authorities seek answers

Officials in Eaton County, Michigan, believe that an emaciated dog, found on Thanksgiving Day, was likely abandoned. The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office is seeking answers about who the dog belongs to.

On Monday, the authorities reached out to the public in a Facebook post, writing:

The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office and Eaton County Animal Control are investigating an animal cruelty complaint. The dog pictured was found on 11/28/19 in Windsor Township on Holt Hwy near Bailey Rd.

The dog is a female who does not have any form of identification. The authorities write:

It’s believed to be a mastiff type dog. She has distinctive white color on her paws. There was another similar female dog found, however it was deceased after being hit by a car. We believe that these dogs are not from this area, and were likely abandoned there.
