Small poodle intentionally burned alive found in fairgrounds’ bathroom

In Henderson, Kentucky, a small poodle was found on Sunday in a bathroom at the county fairgrounds. Henderson Police report the dog was intentionally set on fire while alive 12 hours prior to having been discovered.

According to Channel 14News, the dog had been reported missing by his family; information had been shared on social media and the local shelter had been contacted. The dog, named Duke had escaped from his home on Saturday evening as friends and family had been going in and out while grieving a family member’s death. Duke had been missing for 30 minutes when his owner, Gina Howard discovered the dog gone and started to look for him.

Duke’s body was identified by his rabies tag.

A reward has been offered for information leading the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for such an egregious deed. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Henderson Police Department at 270.831.1295. Specifically, police would like information on any vehicles seen in the Airline Road/Sam Ball Way intersection during the hours of 1-3 a.m. on June 7.

Rest in peace Duke. We hope you can at least find some justice for this terrible atrocity.
