Turnbow was riding on Highway 171 near Cresson, Texas, when something odd caught his eye.

“[I] was riding out an saw a vehicle pulled over on 171 with a worthless piece of crap beating an innocent little white dog,” posted Turnbow on Facebook. “I watched in my rear view and saw this guy throw the dog into the air curbside and drive off.”

After the dog was abandoned, the hero rescuer went to check on the dog. Th pet was on the side of the highway, at risk of getting run over by other vehicles. Turnbow picked him up and quickly rode to catch up with the former abusive owner.

“I went after the guy just to give him a number one sign. And I now have a Co pilot- Meet Mr. DAVIDSON,” he wrote on his Facebook post.

Mr. Davidson is one lucky dog. He now enjoys a pampered life full of love. When he is not lounging on a comfortable dog bed, he is playing with Turnbow’s other dog named Harley, or inspiring his musically talented new owner to write songs.

No one knows what drove Mr. Davidson’s former owner to abuse and dispose of him in such cruel manner, but things happen for a reason, and if it wasn’t for that horrific experience this dog would have not ended in the loving home he is in today.

Thanks to Turnbow and his huge heart, Mr. Davidson now enjoys the good life

The tiny pooch arrived at the shelter on Jan. 9, 2016, three days later 41-year-old occupational therapist John Hwang captured the image and shared it on his Facebook page. Two days later Oliver found his home.

According to ABC News, Hwang spends his free time photographing shelter dogs and sharing those images on social media in an attempt to help homeless dogs find forever homes. When the avid photographer saw Oliver “praying,” he knew he had to snap a shot of that.

“Every time I tried to get up and move away from the kennel, he’d getting up on his hind legs and kept putting his paws together, as if he was begging me to help him,” said Hwang. “He would just come right up to the fence and he would do it. I said, ‘I got to get a photo of that.’”

Oliver’s praying photograph was shared on Facebook more than 2,500 times, and thanks to that image Oliver spent less than a week at the shelter.

According to KHON2 News, the homeless dogs were living inside a trash filled van with no clean space to rest or eat. Every surface of the vehicle and the surrounded area was covered with garbage, urine and feces.

The pets did not have a proper place to call home but they did have owners who shared the same squalid living conditions. Representatives from the animal welfare organization worked with the owners and helped them understand the unsanitary surroundings were not ideal for them or their pets. Thanks to the friendly support rescuers showed the dogs were surrender.

The Chihuahuas suffered from different skin ailments like mange and were infested with fleas and ticks. The Humane Society offered treated them and after receiving a clean bill of health they were all made available for adoption.

Today all dogs have found loving forever homes.

Christopher Rushton and Kirsty Halesm admitted they had no experience as dog owners since they had never own a pet, but nevertheless, the 37- and 29-year-old first-time pet owners bought William online and drove him to his malnourished state.

Not knowing how much to feed the dog or how to care for the pet, William was surrendered unable to stand on his own and with every bone on his body visibly showing. What’s worse, the dog lay in his own urine and feces.

The couple surrendered the pet saying they had found him on the side of a road, but after an investigation, Rushton and Halesm were identified as the pet’s owners and faced animal abuse charges. A judge found the inexperienced dog owners guilty, and sentenced them to a life-time ban of pet ownership, 12-week prison sentences, 12 months suspensions, 35 hours of unpaid work and each had to pay more than $2,500 in fines.

According to Express News William found his loving forever home with RSPCA press officer Rachel Butler and her partner Chris Mallett. At his new home, the prince dog met his fur-sibling named Harry and is currently being nursed back to health.

Today, William weights a 30 lbs. and lives the life of a true Prince. He continues his road to recovery and is expected to live a royal life.

When he first arrived at the shelter, staff performed various tests to get to the root of the dog’s tummy problems, but all exams came back inconclusive. An x-ray revealed there was a blockage in the dog’s stomach, but it wasn’t until the surgery that rescuers learned the real cause of Ramsez’s problems.

No one knows for sure if the former stray ate the bear out of hunger or if it was a simple playful accident. One thing is for sure though, Ramsez loves teddy bears.

Since being rescued from life on the streets, the bear-eating dog has recovered from his surgery and has been adopted. He is now safe in a loving home and has new teddy bears to play with, however he is closely supervised while playing with stuffed animals.

Pursey was a World War II veteran who moved into an assisted living facility when his health deteriorated. His only family was his dog Bob and when the man had to leave his home, he knew he wasn’t leaving his dog behind.

Luckily, a social worker guaranteed both seniors a place in Burnham Lodge and since their move there, Bob became the only four-legged resident and everyone’s best friend.

In 2010, Pursey passed away at the age of 94, but before dying he ensured Bob would have a place at the Lodge to live the rest of his days. The pet owner left his dog a trust worth just under $1,000, but due to the dog’s declining health, that trust quickly ran out. Yet, since Bob was a loved member of his community, the staff at the lodge did raffles, competitions and collected donations, helping Bob’s trust grow to over $7,000 in the course of five years.

This December, just a few weeks short of Bob’s 16th birthday, the dog had to be put to sleep.

“It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Bob,” Lindsay Hammond, a nursing home worker told The Mirror. “He was put to sleep on Monday, Dec. 28. He was a much-loved member of our family at Burnham Lodge and it was a very sad day for the staff and residents.”

Bob had a decade where he was solely adored by his owner, but in the five years he lived at the nursing home he was not only loved by his owner but also every resident. He brought smiles to everyone and made every day a brighter one. He will be forever missed and remembered, and it is needless to say the Burnham Lodge will not be the same without Bob.

Bastidas studied veterinary medicine in Chile and traveled across his native country on his bike, but upon graduation he decided to travel to Europe, visit his sister in Vienna, and explore the European continent on his bike. His two-wheel excursion started in France and from there he traveled to Vienna. His plan was to finish his road trip in Turkey, but on his way there he made an unplanned 5-month stop in Serbia, where he worked in a sustainable green farm and stumbled upon the seven puppies he rescued from a garbage dump.

On January 2, 2015, he was assigned to go buy potatoes at a local store. Bastidas left on his bike, but due to the harsh winter he didn’t find potatoes. On his way back he made a detour and passed the local garbage dump, that’s when eh heard the cries of dogs. Being a natural dog lover and a certified vet, Bastidas knew that if there were dogs out in the open they wouldn’t survive the winter.

The cyclist made a stop and found seven black puppies roaming around looking for food and shelter. Knowing he couldn’t leave them there to their own fate, Bastidas went back home, asked the homeowner for permission to bring the dogs abck with him, and once he got his landlord’s approval, he picked up the pets, brought them home, nursed them and found them all good homes.

One of the lucky pets found a permanent home with Bastidas. He named his new four-legged best friend Gospodin Dinosaurus (Mr. Dianosour) and together they continued to explorer Europe, making new friends, treasuring unforgettable memories until it was time to travel back home to South America.

Gospodin Dinosaurus and his owner slept out in the open some nights, but for most of their journey, they worked as pet and house sitters, dog walkers, or did odd jobs. Now, the fully grown pup is back in South America and his owner is glad he took a chance traveling Europe with nothing more than a bike. Thanks to this risky and unforgettable experience, Gospodin Dinosaurus and his siblings are alive.

On Nov. 22, 2015, the dog that spent two days barking, calling out for help in El Salvador’s Arenal River, near the town San Miguelito, was rescued after local residents contacted authorities.

According to ElSalvador.com, the river runs deep below a bridge and the area is not easily accessible. The dog spent most of the time in the water without any food, but he somehow climbed up to a rock he used as shelter and it was there where rescuers found him.

Animal lovers heard the dog’s barks throughout the weekend, but it wasn’t until Sunday morning when they found the dog. Authorities were called and rescuers equipped with a pet vest climbed down to the area to secure and rescue the dog.

Carefully, rescue team members hoisted the thirsty, hungry, scared but friendly dog out of the river.

A woman and avid animal lover heard about the dog in the river and rushed to the scene. She volunteered to adopt Payaso and keep him as loved family member. Now, the dog that once had no one or safe place to call his him has a loving family.

Last month, residents of a Madrid, Spain, neighborhood discovered a young dog trapped inside a garbage container and not being able to rescue the dog themselves, they called authorities to make them aware of the abused animal.

Workers from Sevemur, a Madrid Emergency Veterinary Service, arrived at the scene and were able to rescue the dog.

The pet was transported to an emergency clinic where veterinarians found the pooch suffered from dehydration, diarrhea and a swollen snout. Rescuers also feared the young animal also suffered from other bacterial diseases like parvo, but after running medical tests, no bacterial infections were found in the puppy’s system.

There are no leads on who might have abused and dumped Robbin. Rescue workers just hope the puppy finds a loving forever home in a few weeks when he is given a clean bill of health.

On October 20, 2015, the stray dog was walking the streets of his neighborhood in Piura, Peru, when he fell into a canal. The waters in the canal had a strong current and the pet got washed away. Luckily, local residents heard the dog’s frantic cries and rushed to look for someone who could help rescue the dog.

It was 7:00 p.m. and the night watchman was doing his rounds when neighbors approached him and asked if he could do something. The man rushed over to the canal and with the help of other neighbors they organized a rescue mission.

Using ropes and a stretcher, the dog was pulled from the waters. Boby was then taken to the watchmen’s office where he was bathed and fed.

The neighborhood security man adopted the dog and Boby now has a home, meals and most importantly love.
