Hurricane Matthew has torn through parts of the southeastern US as predicted, and many pets were left behind to brave the storm on their own – some intentionally, some because their owners could not get home to help them before being separated by the water. Fortunately, there were many wonderful volunteers working to save all of them.

Rescue workers spend nearly four hours trying to free Ripley from a storm drain after he accidentally got out of his house. It’s videos like this one that remind me that most humans are awesome! Watch how they just don’t give up! Ripley is now back at home, safe and sound! YAY!

Over 600 Corgis Storm SoCal’s Corgi Beach Day

Just when you thought it wasn’t possible for Corgis to get any cuter, someone goes and makes an event for hundreds of them to swim and play at the beach all together!

After several Corgi owners connected online, they decided to meet at a southern California beach. When this began back in 2012, a handful of Corgis showed up. Now there are over 600 in attendance. Because they do this a few times a year, chances are good that the event will only get bigger. So much for Corgis being a dying breed!

When he returned to his boat, all he could see was the boat’s mast sticking out of the water. He thought he had lost everything in the storm, including his faithful companion, Daisy.
