Carl Gough says the attack began in the kitchen of his Manchester apartment when the woman beat her four-year-old dog with a shoe. She then chased Lennox down a hallway and kicked him.

A UK man was thrown out of his home when he confronted his pregnant landlady for hitting her Rottweiler with a shoe and kicking him numerous times.  When he posted the video online and reported the crime to police, he was told there was nothing they could do because “it’s only a dog.”  Thankfully, the dog has now been removed from this house of horror.

“I have been out with some friends and came home. I opened the door and went to the kitchen and she must have not seen me or something,” the bartender explained.

“I saw her beating the dog. It was horrific to watch. I asked her what she was doing and she said she was punishing it because it wouldn’t sit down.

“She then started kicking it in the hallway. Afterwards she kicked off me with when I confronted her and threw me out.

“She said there wasn’t a problem with it and that her partner also beats up the dog. I’m scared for its safety. It needs to be removed.

“I’d only been living there for two weeks and she’s kicked me out now.  I’ve got nowhere to go so I’m going to end up sleeping on the streets.”

Gough had only been living in the two-bedroom apartment for a couple of weeks, and thankfully he was there to film the brutal incident.  He posted the video online, and contacted the RSPCA and called police.

“The police turned around to me and said they can’t do anything because it’s only a dog. They said if I don’t pull the videos down I can get done for harassment.

“I was absolutely disgusted. I haven’t done anything wrong yet the police are telling me I’ll get arrested and doing nothing about her.”

After numerous posts were made on the RSPCA’s Facebook page, they told concerned folks:

“This dog is now in our care and we are investigating. A date has been set to interview the person in the video but, as our investigation is ongoing, I’m afraid we can’t give any more information at this time.”

Hopefully the investigation will ensure that Lennox is not returned to his home and that this heartless woman charged with abuse, which most certainly is against the law in Manchester and all parts of the UK.  Click here if you’d like to visit the Greater Manchester Police’s Facebook page and give them a piece of your mind.

She’s currently residing at a shelter run by Dogs Trust.  She also had her best friend, another Chihuahua called Winky, with her when she got to their rehoming center.  The staff loves them both very much, and would really love to see them adopted out together.

Re-homing Center manager Nicki Barrow said, “Kendall is an adorable girl who is a real wizard when it comes to making new doggy friends.  She has been conjuring up so much love from her care-givers here so we are really surprised that she hasn’t yet found her perfect home.  It’s amazing how much she looks like Dobby and just like her doppelganger, she is such a loyal, funny character who would make a fantastic family pet in the right home.  As much as we love her here, we would enjoy nothing better than to see her potter off to a new home with the loving new family she deserves.”

Westley Pearson, director of claims at Animal Friends said, “Often times we hear stories of dogs arriving at rehoming centers and whilst the majority of these dogs go on to find their forever home, it is a sad truth that a percentage remain at the center.  We hope that Dobby, with her unique features and mischievous nature can find her own forever home.  Thankfully, we are now seeing an increase in rescued pets having insurance which means they are being rehomed to responsible households.”

Dogs Trust has launched a campaign, calling on all Harry Potter fans.  They hope to find someone that sees the resemblance she bears to Dobby, and give her the forever family she deserves.

UK shoppers in the city center of Cardiff were shocked and appalled to see a poor dog collapsed and being dragged helplessly behind the cart.  Rachel Lansdown told WalesOnline what happened:

Basically there were two men driving carts with ponies attached to them and the cart at the back had a dog attached to it. The men were smacking the horses to go faster and the poor dog could not keep up so was pretty much just being dragged along behind.

As the man got just outside the Admiral building by the Motorpoint Arena the carts had to stop in traffic and the dog just collapsed.  At this point people were shouting and I started to run over.

A man driving the cart sent another boy off to try and get the dog up.  He was pulling at the rope and the poor dog was just lying there lifeless. It was horrendous!  As I got to the dog a few other people started to come to help but the guy with the cart was shouting ‘kill it, kill it!’

A woman started shouting at him saying he wasn’t having the dog and at this point the boy got back on the cart and a man carried the dog to the side of the road.  I unattached her collar so she could breathe as she lay on the road. My boyfriend put his coat over her.  Another girl was also trying to get water into the dog’s mouth.

After about five minutes someone lifted the dog up and took her into the Admiral building while we all waited for her to catch her breath.  Another woman phoned the police and the dogs’ home.  We all sat with her for more than an hour and when she eventually perked up she had a good drink and a little bit of food which we had bought.

The dogs’ home eventually came to get her and before she went she gave everyone a kiss and a cuddle.  It was as if she knew we had helped her and she was saying thank you.

The dog, now called Baby Girl, was taken to Friends of the Dogs in Wales.  She has been seen by a vet and is now being pampered by staff.

Stella was seized in 2014 by the Devon Police for being a dangerous dog.  They locked her up for two years, without any love or exercise at all.  Shelter staff were not allowed by law to interact with Stella in any way shape or form, and Devon and Cornwall police refuse to give any specific reasons as to why Stella is considered dangerous.

An assistant at the private kennel that Stella is being held called Laura Khanlarian said they put her in the kennels as required.  Stella was lucky to get out of said cage but twice a day for behavior assessments, which to say the least, nowhere near enough.

“We were always told not to exercise or go into a kennel with any dogs; regardless of character, that had been brought in under the Dangerous Dogs Act,” said Laura Khanlarian, an assistant at the shelter.  “We were under no circumstances allowed to touch any of those dogs, which was hard.  Animal welfare comes before anything, and that was my job.  I don’t believe I would be doing it properly if I would sit back and think that’s OK.  It wasn’t OK – it’s not OK.”

Now, there is a “destruction order” sent down by a judge.  Stella is set to be euthanized under the Dangerous Dogs Act, and her human only has 21 days to appeal the decision.  Her human has been arguing her case for her the whole time, and there is no evidence that Stella has ever posed a danger to anyone.  The only evidence that was shown, was video footage of Stella locked up in the kennels, nothing else.

Though Jeanette was initially diagnosed with fibroids, the UK woman’s doctors struggled to diagnose her correctly after 58 appointments.

“Jeanette was going backwards and forwards to different medical appointments,” husband David explained to the Daily Mail. “Jeanette would scream so loud she sounded like a fan at a football match. It was awful. She would say, ‘I know it’s not fibroids. David, please help me.’”

She found herself in an ambulance because of one episode, and was sent home with painkillers. Their Collie-Alsatian mix Jerry knew it was serious. He would always sniff at Jeanette’s abdomen, where she felt excruciating pain. Since 2012, she also suffered from rectal bleeding and back, hip, and thigh pain.

“She was in so much pain that she would be physically sick when she went to the toilet. She would fall on the floor and I would pick her up. It broke my heart.”

In May of 2015, David took her to a walk-in clinic, and at the sight of Jeanette, a nurse broke down in tears.  The next day she went to a hospital, where a CT dye scan revealed that she had a tumor that started in her uterus and spread throughout her abdomen.  But by then it was too late for anything to be done.

“By the time we knew about the cancer it was too late. The cancer was at a stage where they couldn’t do anything to save her or prolong her life. All of her insides were fused together.

“Jeanette never wanted to know how long she had left. She was hoping she would have another year.

“I was 20 weeks pregnant and had been so unwell for weeks, I couldn’t walk… and I hadn’t kept anything down for weeks,” Alhanna said in a post on Facebook (which is no longer available).

“Doctors put it down to me being so small and my spine not being able to manage with the extra weight well and just normal pregnancy symptoms but Keola wouldn’t leave my side.”

When Alhanna got ready for work, Keola insistently nudged her, and would not stop barking and whining.

Upon her return home, “Keola looked so sad and I knew something was bothering her. She just sat there staring at me and wouldn’t let me go anywhere alone.”

Unable to ignore Keola’s desperate signals, Alhanna went to the hospital, and fainted as soon as she began walking down the corridor.  She was rushed to the ICU, where she faded in and out of consciousness while on morphine.

“Turns out my backache was due to a double kidney infection and because it was untreated for so long it was one of the worst cases they had ever seen.”

“On top of that I had an antibiotic resistant bug that had only ever affected one other person in the UK. It was killing me and the doctors told me if I had left it any longer I would have died and more than likely my son also.”

Alhanna and her son, who was named Lincoln, are alive and well, thanks to Keola.  She absolutely adores her new little brother, and has happily taken on the role of his nanny.

He works with an anti-poaching force in Kruger National Park.  Over the past four years, he and his team are responsible for the arrests and prosecution of over 115 people.  The already severely endangered animal has a real protector in Killer.

A charity out of the UK called the PDSA (People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals) founded in 1917 by Maria Dickin has called Killer “truly remarkable” for his efforts.  They have awarded Killer with a gold medal in recognition of his service, and is considered an international hero.

According to numbers published by animal conservation groups notating the surviving number of particular rhino species, the situation for the giant beasts of Africa is grim.  Many believe that in as little as ten years, they may be completely extinct, all because of erroneous beliefs surrounding their horns.  Many cultures use it for medicinal purposes, and also as an aphrodisiac.  We won’t get into too many of the gory details involved in the harvesting of the horns from the rhinos, but regardless what modern science say about the horn being made of the same thing fingernails are made of.

K9 Killer and his handler Amos Mzimba, fly into areas where poaching is known to be extreme.  While in the air, the team looks for the tell-tale signs poachers are around.  Once the area is properly scouted, they will land, and Killer goes to work.  He is about the best tracking dog one could ask for.

Mzimba said, “It is an honor to have Killer by my side. It means a lot that he has been recognized for his skills.”

Mzimba has another, more personal reason for his affection for the dog.  Killer once saved him while in an active firefight with a poacher, so their bond runs much deeper that what’s on the surface of things.

“Thanks to him, we are arresting more poachers, but there is a lot more to be done if we are to save the rhino from extinction,” he said.

The gold medal was awarded to K9 Killer by actor Ricky Gervais.  Gervais is a very active and outspoken animal rights activist, so who would be more appropriate to bestow the honor?

I a video from YouTube, Gervais said, “He helped capture dozens of poachers in the last year alone, thanks to his amazing courage and dedication.”

The sweaters are a labor of love.  Each one of them can take upwards of 20 hours from start to finish.  She started the idea about five years ago.  She had set out o make a selection of Santa Claus outfits, woolly antlers and scarves for dogs in need.  She also reconditions old blankets into coats.

“I have spent over 4,000 hours knitting but it’s all worthwhile when I see them sporting their new jumpers and hats,” said Brown.  I started knitting from an early age and after making a few coats for my own greyhounds it seemed like a great way to help the animal shelters.”

“It’s really sweet seeing them in their festive Christmas jumpers, I think they look really sweet and it’s giving much needed help to the rescue centers.  Greyhounds have very thin fur so they really feel the cold during the winter so my gifts help keep them warm during walks.”

“Making coats and jumpers for these dogs saves the rescue homes a lot of money that can be better spent saving more dogs off the streets and feeding them,” she continued.

“The rescue homes have to spend the money they raise on vets bills and nursing the dogs back to health so my coats help them to prioritize their money.  It feels like I’m knitting and sewing all the time, I’m never doing anything else – but I know it’s all worth it.”

“Whenever I send my parcels off to the rescue homes I feel really proud as I know it’s going to really help the dogs.      There are so many dogs that won’t be re-homed this Christmas so for many of them it’s the only gift they will get.”

After an investigation into John Psaila’s home in Thornvale, Abram, UK has landed him in jail for what was described as a “training school” for fighting dogs.  Psaila admitted to police 14 separate offenses, including an admission to both training animals for fighting purposes and possession of equipment used in dog fights.

The investigation was launched after authorities were tipped off by neighbors about his possible involvement in prepping dogs for a fight, and also transporting them for fighting purposes.

Two pit bulls, one called Ziggy and the other Tip were found on his property, along with treadmills and other training equipment.  He was also in possession of home veterinary supplies including muscle building powders and medications, and something called “breaking sticks,” which are used to break up dogs that are fighting without getting into the ring with dogs.

It’s believed that Psaila had been legally breeding dogs for many years before getting into dog fighting.  His defense attorney pointed to him being “strapped for cash,” and only doing it to make ends meet.

The Chief Inspector for the RSPCA Ian Briggs called the man’s home nothing more than “a training grounds for fighting dogs,” after sentencing.  He was quoted as saying Psaila had “no regard for the dogs in his care.  All he wanted out of those dogs was to boost his own ego and his own sanding inside the dog-fighting fraternity by fighting them as much as he could.”

He then added, “John Psaila appears to be a big player in the dog fighting world, judging by the evidence we found during our investigation.”

Psaila was jailed for 121 days at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court.  He has also been banned from ever owning animals again, which can be appealed in 15 years.  Dog fighting in the UK has been outlawed for the past 180 years, and recently, it seems like more and more cases of it are cropping up there.  Police and officials are doing everything they can to stop the criminals, but the secretive nature of dog fighting rings make it hard.
