A Chicago teenager, walking his dog near his home in Little Village on Tuesday afternoon, was shot and killed. According to multiple sources, the boy’s dog was killed as well.
According to the Associated Press, the victim is identified as 17-year-old Juan Martinez. Reports indicate that the boy suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and his head; he died at Mount Sinai Hospital. As reported by the Chicago Sun Times, the dog died at the scene.
The murder is under investigation – nobody has been taken into custody.
The stay-at-home orders across the nation have apparently not halted shooting in the Chicago area – according to NBC Chicago, there were two people killed and twelve others injured in shootings just last weekend.
