Terrified senior Lab huddles and shakes in fear at Texas shelter

How do we explain to our senior canine friends that we are trying to help? This poor Labrador retriever is terrified and huddles in the corner of his shelter cage at San Antonio Animal Care.

A volunteer writes:

“Keller is huddled & shaking in fear in loud chaotic shelter in San Antonio.

Heart breaking senior male noted as Lab Retriever mix is shaking in fear at the chaotic shelter. His confused expression is heart breaking when he looks at Christy the SADLS teammate. He desperately needs help now. Tomorrow is his due out day 8/12/20.”

Another volunteer’s description hurts our hearts even deeper:

580834″ Keller is a sad old man who needs lots of TLC. He can just be found napping and shivering in his kennel. Will you give him a loving home to live out his senior years in? Keller is around 8 years old and weighs about 40-45 lbs.”
