Trooper gets elderly woman and her 16-year-old dog a place to stay after they were refused help elsewhere

The spirit of giving is still alive and well. This month, a trooper in Pennsylvania took action to help an elderly woman and her dog who had nowhere to go.

The heartwarming situation was Tweeted last week by Troopers Ammerman, Smith, & Myers:

A 75-year-old woman and her 16-year-old dog, “patches” were home homeless and outside in the cold. All shelters refused to offer assistance due to not allowing pets.

Cpl. Addison Lovett paid for a hotel room to get them out of the cold. A warm story for a cold day!

Along with statements of gratitude for Cpl. Lovett’s kindness:

Wish that there were more people like him…. Especially around the holidays when the weather is cold.

Wow. That was awesome. Thank you so much. May God bless you and protect you always.. Merry Christmas.

And more.

What an act of kindness Clapping hands sign

Comments on the Tweet reveal that other people have chipped in to secure additional nights at the hotel for the woman and her dog.
