Unique low-rider surrendered after family lost jobs due to Covid

An adorable husky-mix “low-rider,” is in need of a new home after his family surrendered him to the Atascosa County Animal Control in Texas. The dog, named Dakota, will be available for adoption on Saturday, November 21.

The animal control agency posted photos of Dakota and wrote:

Owner Surrender….
This dog was surrendered by its owner and will be available for adoption on Saturday, November 21st. Come by and check it out and ask about its special adoption fee. ID 5067

A person who has stated that they previously owned Dakota commented:

I was the previous owner and because my husband and I lost our jobs due to COVID and our jobs coming to an end we had to move with relatives so we no longer could keep them. This was not our first choice please know that, all shelters we tried were either full or not receiving animals at this time.

This truly was last resort and the most difficult thing we all had to do as a family. We’re praying for a wonderful home and family for them.

According to the prior owner, Dakota needs to be the only pet. You can find the animal control agency on Facebook here.
