Charity and SuzyQ arrived at the Jackson County Animal Shelter in Gautier, Mississippi from a bad situation. Charity, a bully mix and her bonded pal SuzyQ, miniature pin and chihuahua mix, are all they have left; both had been severely covered in fleas, undernourished and suffering from demodex mange.

The adoption coordinator, Maridee Bond Mallette captured the two embracing as they seemed to be assuring each other that everything would be fine.

“When I walk by their cage they are always laying in different funny positions together,” Maridee wrote. “They love each other. It breaks my heart to see them taken away from each other. There are so many that come in like this, and I just don’t understand why people don’t take care of their pets.”
