93-Year-Old War Vet Was Devastated When His Dog Was Stolen. Thankfully, They Had A Sweet Reunion

Roger LeClair, a 93-year-old WWII veteran, was devastated when his best friend, a tiny 12-year-old Chihuahua named Lola, was stolen from his home. A child witness said he saw a woman drive up to LeClair’s house and take the dog. She told the child that she was just taking the dog to the veterinarian, and then drove off with her.

LeClair spent the week grieving over his missing best friend, who he called “the love of his life.” But thankfully his grieving came to an end shortly after. Cynthia Godfrey found Lola at a dog park near her home. She cared for the pup until she found LeClair after hearing about the story on the news.

LeClair said he has had Lola since she was one month old, and he was worried about her health as she was recently put on medication. Thankfully, he doesn’t have to worry any longer!

Another veteran named Byron Holtzclaw was willing to offer a $5,000 reward for the return of Lola, but she was found before he could spread the word. He wound up giving the money to LeClair to pay for her dog food for the rest of her years.
