Confined Dog Dies in Stolen SUV That Was Taken at Florida Casino

In Hallandale, Florida, a vehicle stolen with a dog inside has been found; the tiny dog was found dead. The SUV was stolen from the Big Easy Casino earlier this month. His owner had been in the casino and left the dog in the car with the motor running.

According to Local10News, the small dog had been abandoned in the Ford Escape by the thief – the windows were closed and the engine was off. The vehicle was found about a mile from the casino. Temperatures in South Florida that day had soared into the 80s. The little guy’s name was Bootsie.

Patricia Frances, the dog’s owner described Bootsie as her best friend.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954.493.TIPS. A $3,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. The suspect has been described as a man in his 20s or 30s with long dreadlocks.

Don’t ever leave your pet unattended in a vehicle. Sure, he might give you those sad eyes when you leave, but he will be alive and happy to see you when you return.
