Tragedy struck Jessica Woodruff’s family on February 20, 2017 – the barn caught on fire. The fire claimed the lives of a pig, four goats, and a litter of 3-week-old puppies. The seven puppies belonged to her dog, Daisy, a Great Pyrenees and Border Collie mix. Daisy was understandable heartbroken with her loss.

For a few days after the fire, Daisy just walked down by the barn, crying. Jessica was desperate to help her dog and reached out on Facebook. She was hoping to find a litter of pups that needed a foster mom. Lorna Murphy had a litter of eight pups who had lost their mom shortly after she gave birth.
