Near the Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania area, the Speranza Animal Rescue was called Wednesday afternoon referencing a dog that had been abandoned and left tied to the frigid porch of a house with a bag of dog food. Temperatures in the area were reported to be 21 degrees; much too cold for a dog left with no cover or protection.
A heartbreaking announcement posted on the organization’s Facebook page stated:
“This girl cowered when I approached. Her tail tucked so tight, and her body quivering – mostly from the cold. But also, out of fear.”
The dog, now dubbed Eloise, is a young pit bull. Her ears have injuries with “chunks taken out” and blood on her head. She also has numerous scars all over her body.
“As soon as I untied her, she drug me straight to the car. And, jumped in and curled up on the seat. I’m not sure what your story is, but here’s to a new beginning. Welcome to the family Eloise,” Janine Guido, founder of the rescue posted.
Updates to follow. For now, let’s help Eloise. Click here to donate.
