Dog Had Been Hanging On In The Water For 16 Hours When They Finally Found Him

Many people were forced to evacuate their homes as devastating floods rolled through Louisiana. Thankfully, some people realized every life was worth saving.

Baton Rouge was devastated by floods, and rescuer Mike Anderson set out to save any pets who may have been left behind.

Mike and his friend Darrell found two pit bulls who’d become separated from their families and were stranded in the water.

They determined the dogs had spent up to 16 hours clinging on to whatever they could to stay alive. At that point, they’d saved around 100 lives — and they weren’t done yet!

And Mike and Darrel weren’t the only heroes out saving lives; Josh Petit posted a picture of his rescue, and it took the internet by storm.

“Baton Rouge got flash floods this morning going from dry land to 8ft of water in people’s houses within 2hrs! Extremely bad situation,” Josh said on Facebook. “Out the corner of my eyes I seen a bush shaking! This is all I saw! Eyes and nose barely above water She could barely tread water anymore she was so worn out and had the saddest eyes I ever seen so scared for her life! We saved her and she came laid her head on my lap and cried and moaned like a big baby! She was thanking me. I thank God for letting me notice her. We then rescued a vet and his animals and she went with them to dry land.”

Many thanks to the brave men who put it all on the line to save these helpless dogs.
