Farewell to Faith: The Inspiring Two-Legged Dog Who Touched the World

The world has bid farewell to Faith, the brave canine who lived an exceptionally full life for twelve years, despite being born with only two healthy back legs due to multiple congenital disorders.

According to The Ardmoreite, Faith’s life nearly ended on her first day on earth. Veterinarians recommended euthanasia due to her condition, but the Stringfellow Family chose a different path. They lovingly nursed and nurtured Faith back to health, taking turns caring for her. Over six months, they taught her to walk by luring her with peanut butter on a spoon.

Incredibly, Faith soon began hopping around, and by the time she was seven months old, she could run and play with the energy and enthusiasm of any other dog.

As reported by Oklahoma News 4, Faith’s inspiring story didn’t stop there. She went on to work with the US Military and was granted the non-commissioned rank of E5 Sgt in 2006. Faith visited more than two million soldiers worldwide at active military bases and provided comfort to 2,300 wounded soldiers.

Her inspirational story reached a broad audience through appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Stars and Stripes, Montel Williams, Maury, Ricki Lake, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, Nova, Animal Planet, Discovery, and The Early Show. Despite missing two front legs, Faith touched countless lives with her determination and spirit.

This unique hero led a life that was more fulfilling than many could imagine, spreading joy wherever she went. Faith will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire millions.
