A Siberian Husky named Mako surprised his humans by finding a way to stay cool on a Spring day in North Carolina by cooling off inside an ice machine.

Alice Rouse and her husband had just taken Mako for a run and popped out for a short bit. But when they returned home they couldn’t find him – until they saw a tail hanging out from the ice machine.

They posted video of Mako cooling off on the ice to Facebook with the caption, “Cool dog! Looks like I need to lock the ice maker” where it’s quickly gone viral and garnered over 10 million views.

“We took Mako for a run on our 11-acre farm. We were on the golf cart – he chose to run. Once we returned, we did not see him. Alice went in the house while Eric went to look for him. When Eric saw his tail hanging out of the ice machine he went to the house to tell Alice, who went back in the house to grab her phone and shot the video.”

“Mako was 6.5 months old at the time. He is a full-blooded Siberian Husky. He continues to use the ice machine as his ‘cooling off’ spot. We don’t have the heart to lock him out of it – yet.”

It just goes to show you should never underestimate a husky’s ability to escape or to get into spots you never imagined!
