Husky found tied to log near Erie Canal

In Rome, New York, a white husky type dog was discovered tied to a log near the Erie Canal. On Thursday, animal cruelty investigators from the Central New York SPCA announced they are looking for help from the public identifying the dog or his owners.

According to WktvNews, the dog was discovered by Rome Animal Control on July 30 at the end of Luquer Street. It is believed the dog was intentionally tied up and left to die. The latest report states the dog is doing well. The dog has been named River.

“We’re taking it very seriously because it’s cruel,” stated Dee Schaefer, a CNY SPCA representative. “She could have drowned, if she was not able to get on top.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact CNY SPCA cruelty investigators at 315.454.3469 or send an email to crueltyinvestigations@cnyspca.org. This poor dog deserves justice – we can help.
