Man facing felony charge for hanging dog from garage rafters

A Wisconsin man is facing a felony charge of mistreatment of animals for allegedly hanging a dog to death. As reported by the Herald Times Reporter, 34-year-0ld James J. Faulds of De Pere hanged a pit bull named Beef from rafters in a garage in August 2018.

The cruel incident allegedly took place after Beef behaved aggressively towards the dog owner’s mother. After the alleged aggression, Faulds dragged Beef to the garage and hanged him from the rafters – a day later, the dog’s owner contacted the Manitowoc Police Department to report what had happened.

The police report states:

“He (the dog’s owner) received a phone call from James J. Faulds indicating that his dog, Beef, was acting aggressively towards his mother … and not to worry because he took care of him.”

The authorities have confirmed that the dog had a history of aggression. The man who killed him is due in court on May 1 to face the felony charge.
