Owner in tears as he surrenders 15-year-old cocker spaniel

A 15-year-old cocker spaniel, named Charlie, lies in his shelter cage wondering why he isn’t home with his family. On April 22, Charlie’s owner surrendered him to the Carson Animal Care Center because he was no longer able to handle the responsibility of caring for his dog. Volunteers at the shelter saw the owner in tears as he bid goodbye to the dog he spent his life with for the past five years.

Pet Harbor listing here:  “My name is CHARLIE and I’m an approximately 15 year old male Cocker Spaniel. I am already neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 4/22. I will be available on 4/22. You can visit me at my temporary home at C414. My former family who owned me for more than 5 years had to give me up because they just weren’t up for the responsibility of a pet. But they said that I spend most of my time indoors. I seem to be good with small children. I am house trained. I am good on a leash. I am just learning obedience skills. I seem to get along well with dogs and cats.” A Facebook page for Charlies can be followed here. Additional information can be found here.

Please share Charlie’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
