Shivering in a pile of trash on one of the coldest days of the year, little Mia was found at 1.9 pounds malnourished with an upper respiratory infection.

Ironically, the man who found her had adopted a dog from a rescue a few years before that had been thrown out of a truck after being used for puppies and bait in a dog fighting ring.

He called the woman who rescued his dog and she had little Mia cleaned up and vetted immediately. She fell in love immediately and decided to make Mia a permanent member of the family.

One week later, Mia has gained weight and is a happy, healthy little girl. You know what they say, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
