Someone abandoned a senior dog, tied to a pole – reward offered


Earlier this week, someone abandoned a senior dog outside of a Walgreen Pharmacy in Patchogue, New York, and a reward has been offered for information leading to the identity (and subsequent arrest and conviction) of the person responsible. On Friday morning, the Suffolk County SPCA released information about what happened.


According to the animal welfare agency, the 10-year-old “puggle” (pug/beagle mix) dog had been tied to a pole near the Walgreen store which is on 286 West Main Street. The agency has stated that a $1,000 reward is offered for information in this case of abandonment.

Individuals who recognize this dog, or who has information, is asked to call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722.

According to Patch, the female dog has been dubbed “Mama,” and she was taken to an area veterinary hospital after being found on Monday.
