No one is really sure exactly what had happened to Koby to put him in the predicament he was in when he was rescued.  It’s assumed that he was very badly beaten and neglected by his former humans, before they simply dumped him off somewhere to starve to death.  However that’s all in the past now, and his foster mom says he has not stopped smiling since the day he was rescued.

Even though his past isn’t fully understood, the shape that he was found in definitely allowed some pretty educated guesses into what things were like for him.  Regardless, of the horrors in his early life, you’d never know he was abused by the way he acts today.

Thanks to the love and care of medical professionals and his new foster mom, Koby is all smiles today.  In fact his whole attitude towards life.  His foster mom was so impressed by how happy and playful Koby is, that it was decided that he would become a full member of her family.

The Great Animal Rescue Chase and Harmony Fund reported on their Facebook page that two kind people learned of the dog being stuck in the well, and acted quickly to rescue him. They also posted the video of the rescue at the bottom of this article. After getting the dog out of the well, they decided to call the dog Christmas.

“Surprisingly, the dog is in fairly good, physical condition,” said Laura Simpson. Simpson is the founder of The Harmony Fund. “The blindness of course is from a pre-existing condition, but he’s not in foster care and we’re hoping he can find a home where he’s loved and respected in the way he should be.”

According to the rescuers, the dog may have been searching out food in the area when he found himself falling into the well. Some kids in the area were tossing food down to him for quite a while before they were told about it, and apparently no one else cared enough to rescue him.

The two men are named Fahrudin Caki Bravo and Ratko Koblar. They worked together to get down into the well, so they could get him out carefully and safely. It was Bravo that was lowered into the 28-foot deep well, and once out, Christmas seemed all too happy to have been rescued.

They finally got the dog on a leash, which she wasn’t exactly happy about. One can only imagine what horrors this poor sweet girl had gone through in life to be this scared.

They finally got her under control, and she received a full medical check-up.  Once she was medically cleared, they took her to a foster home, where eight weeks later, something unexpected happened.

It turns out our rescue girl was a mom!  She gave birth to some beautiful puppies, and now the family is looking for forever homes with loving and caring families.

A man from Texas and his dog have a lot to be thankful for this year.  When rising flood waters almost swept him and his dog away, the man called police and waited for rescue.

The man wasn’t sure exactly where he and his dog were, but emergency services used his cell phone signal to pinpoint his location.  The fire department was then dispatched for a rescue.

The firefighters positioned the ladder truck near where the two were stuck and awaiting rescue.  The firefighters used a system of ropes and pulleys attached to the ladder to lower a firefighter to where they were.

It was a harrowing rescue to be sure, but the firefighters and first responders did an excellent job rescuing the man and his dog.  So, how does a thankful dog show his appreciation for a daring rescue?  He showers his rescuer in a ton of big wet kisses, that’s how!

Both the man and his dog are OK, and thankfully no one was hurt during the rescue.  Below is some video footage of the event.

Navarre was dying before the group’s eyes.  He was conscious while standing in the river, but his hind legs were nearly paralyzed from a past injury, and exhaustion and the frigid water were taking their tolls.

He was darted with a tranquilizer, and the team worked quickly to bring him to shore.  However, his body began shutting down from hypothermia, and he went into cardiac arrest.

But the crew diligently performed chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.  After what seemed like an interminable amount of time, Navarre responded and came back to life.

He was taken to be dried off and warmed up before transport to the Mount Adonis Rescue Centre.  He spent days in intensive care, and once released from critical care, he was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital for exams and testing.

He had an infection, a hepatic disease, mange, and buckshot throughout his body.  Disc spondylitis was determined to be the cause of his hind paralysis.  Over the next two months, he responded to treatments and gained weight, even regaining use in his back legs a bit.

Sadly, four months after his rescue, Navarre suffered a “sudden malaise” and was taken into veterinary care.  His condition rapidly deteriorated and he passed away.  Though it is tragic that he did not make it, he spent the last months of his life being loved and cared for by a team who gave him a far better life than most wolves would have on their own.

Animal Aid Unlimited from India shares this video and these photos of an amazing transformation.  You simply have to see this to believe it.  When first found, the dog was suffering through one of the worst cases of mange the rescuers had ever seen.  Things did not look good.

Miraculously, after just ten days of treatment, the dog started to turn around.  He is still doing well, and is looking for a proper forever home, with a loving family.  With his fresh, new coat, he seems to be much happier, and is an all around sweet heart of a dog.

He recovered from his poor health in a relatively short amount of time.  This was a good thing, considering the doctors did’t hold much hope for him to survive  Against all odds, he survived long enough to be rescued and every day that passes, he gets healthier and better.  Thanks to the caring people at Animal Aid Unlimited, this dog will live to see another day.
